Kitchen Cabinet Refinishing and Painting
While an on-site inspection is the most thorough method estimating a job, due to the ongoing crisis, Haven Painting is offering a Remote Estimate to our future customers who wish to minimize contact.
Remote Estimate for Cabinet Painting Procedure
- Take lots of good pictures.
- Take pictures of the full set of kitchen cabinets in 1, 2, or 3 pictures or more if necessary; if multiple pictures are required, label them, e.g., Full Kitchen 1 of 2, Full Kitchen 2 of 2.
- Take some close-up pictures of the doors.
- Take a close up picture of how the drawer fronts attach.
- Take pictures of the underside of the top cabinets.
- Make a list of the type and number of cabinets
- List the number of doors.
- List the number of drawers.
- List the number of cabinets with a glass door.
- List the number of cabinets without a door and with shelves.
- List wine racks, dish racks, microwave slots, etc.
- Other details
- Describe the type of wood, or at least whether it is an open or closed-grain wood.
- Detail the overall condition of the cabinets.
- List the number of cabinets with a glass door.
- List the number of cabinets without a door and with shelves.
- List any noticeable damage or concerns that may not be evident from the pictures or any repair work that will need to be done.
- Detail interest in changing cabinet hardware (doorknobs and drawer-pulls) or hinges.
- Describe any carpentry work you would like done: e.g., adding crown molding or adding beadboard to the back of an island or peninsula.
- It is usually necessary to “touch-up” the paint on the walls around the cabinets after spraying the cabinets, do you have “touch-up” paint or do you know the exact paint that was used to paint the kitchen? Brand, product line, color, and sheen. e.g., Benjamin Moore Regal Select Stonington Gray in Matte finish.
- Detail any other work being performed or to be performed in the kitchen area that will affect the scheduling of the cabinet refinishing process.
